In the bask of computer light my boss
says watch for leaks in the room.
I know now what to pray for. Thunder
burps and rain’s radio static steadies
on the roof– a beating applause
that, for once, recognizes all the good
work I’ve done.

rush of speed then tangled road
slow for nothing nothing slows for you

A butterknife has potential.
Voila! Cream cheese
on an everything
The microwave beeps.
The ceiling fan spins.
at the bottom of the fridge.
Throw out the bag.
Then throw out that bag.
off the floor.
Take your shoes off
Catch the mouse before
though you know
that means to snap
Summon all the light
